Fear, Threat and Intimidation

The latest move by the Fletcher administration to stonewall the investigation of abuses in the merit system has reached a new low.

Now I understand why lawyers like Sheryl Snyder file motion after motion to delay and derail and investigation. It’s their job. That’s what your tax dollars are paying them to do.

But the now the Fletcher administration’s Brown Shirts are using fear, threat and intimidation to try and get what they want. Thank goodness they appear to be as incompetent at this activity as they have been with everything else they have attempted.

From the Courier Journal:

“FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Gov. Ernie Fletcher's administration has accused a state Personnel Board member of bias in the investigation into whether politics has illegally influenced civil service hiring.

….."I love God, I respect this country, and I love the merit system. If that is a bias, then so be it," said
(Ann) Aukerman, who is a personnel liaison in the Health and Family Services Cabinet and voted for Fletcher, a Republican.”

The last time I checked the merit system rules were part of the Kentucky Revised
Statutes
.

The administration is now accusing a Personnel Board member of bias because that person believes in God, Country and the Laws of the Commonwealth.

This goes beyond partisan politics. We are now talking attacking anyone or anything that might hold them accountable. These guys really deserve not to be in power for another generation.
