How many people does it take to make a conspiracy?
From the Associated Press:
“FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A grand jury indicted Kentucky's Republican Party chairman and two state officials Monday on charges alleging they conspired to violate state personnel laws.
…….Basil Turbyfill is in charge of filling political positions for Fletcher, and Bob Wilson is part of the governor's Personnel Cabinet. GOP Chairman Darrell Brock was director of local government in Fletcher's office before he took the party job this year.”
I guess these guys won’t be appointed to the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Taskforce looking at the Merit System. But on the other hand, given the general arrogance of this administration, it is conceivable that all three would be on the Taskforce.
I was on a Legislative Taskforce once. We met once a month, listened to people state the obvious while they covered their posteriors and accomplished nothing. The whole thing was an exercise in futility.
Prediction:
After several months of hearings this Blue Ribbon Taskforce will file a report which no one will read and even fewer will act on.
If Ernie really wants to change the merit system he drags David Williams, Katie Stine, Dan Kelly, Ed Worley, Jody Richards, Larry Clark, Rocky Adkins and Jeff Hoover into a room and no one leaves until he has a deal to clean up the mess.
The Blue Ribbon Taskforce is just more smoke and mirrors by the Governor.
So now we have the Deputy Chief of Staff Dick Murgatroyd and the Chairman of Kentucky Republican Party indicted. This sort of sounds like Attorney General Greg Stumbo is spotting an artillery target.
I’m just waiting for the boom.
