These are great slogans, but how about this for a change --
Effective Government.
What has the current administration in Washington produced?
The current public debt (deficit) $7,949,891,439,330.32;
American troops being killed in Iraq for corporate profits;
Bodies floating in the streets of New Orleans.
The scale is different in Kentucky but the results are just as dismal.
Covering up a conspiracy to break the laws of the Commonwealth;
Refusing to tell truth to the citizens of Kentucky;
Dodging major issues like Health Care Reform.
I want effective, practical, common sense representation and leadership from my elected officials. So starting with the up coming election I will not vote for any candidate that can’t give me a common sense answer about what they are going to do to deal with the problems we face.
I don’t want to hear about Faith and Values any more. I don't want to hear about cutting taxes or smaller government. I don't want to hear about Family Values. I know what my values are and I don't need a politician standing in a pulpit trying to tell me what I need to believe.
The job of an elected official is to serve the public, all of the public, not just the country club set or Halliburton Corporate Headquarters or the Kentucky Republican Party.
So here is what I want from every person elected to public office.
Just do your best to do your job and serve all of the people. If you can't or won't do that then stay out of politics.
