Rep. James Carr of Hopkinsville has gone over to the dark side. It’s not much of a loss, the Force was only minimally disturbed.
Usually rats jump off sinking ships, such as the current Republican administration, Carr seems to be a little directionally challenged.
From the Herald Leader:
“FRANKFORT, Ky. - Kentucky's senior U.S. senator and a western Kentucky congressman announced Monday a former Democratic state House member was defecting to the Republican Party, narrowing the Democrats' advantage in that chamber.
Sen. Mitch McConnell and U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield stood inside GOP headquarters - just down the street from the Capitol - and announced Rep. James Carr of Hopkinsville was turning Republican. Noticeably absent was Gov. Ernie Fletcher, whose administration for months has been rocked by an attorney general's investigation into personnel practices.”
From his first term record Carr's main talent seems to lie in putting his name on bills sponsored by other people. Here is the legislation with his name on it in the 2005 session.

But the really sad part of this DINO’s defection, is that someone recruited him to run and then the Christian County Democratic Executive Committee gave him a $1,000.00 and the State Democratic Executive Committee gave him $11,100.00.
I like to see some accountability from the idiots that made those decisions; a simple public Mea Culpa would be nice.
And would someone please buy this guy a Brooks Brothers suit and make him look like a Republican.
