How does Howard Cornett get elected?
From the Herald Leader:
“State Rep. Howard Cornett, R-Whitesburg, who has fought for nearly six years to pave the 14-mile Little Shepherd Trail, said that Appalshop, an arts and cultural center in Whitesburg, is trying to hold the Pine Mountain region back from tourism and development.”
This is the guy that sponsored the bill that would have allowed more over weight trucks on Kentucky roads. Including those running through residential neighborhoods, for those of you in Lexington that would have included streets like Man O’ War Blvd.
Of course it makes sense that Howard would want to spread a little more asphalt any place he can. You have to keep those $1,000 donors like Leonard and Bonnie Lawson happy.

Once Again Into The Fray
To quote Russell Casse, “I’m baaack”.
First the blocking of web sites, that criticize our beloved Governor Fletcher.
I must take responsibility for not posting lately. Life goes on and I’ve been busy. However I’m still a little hurt that Ernie and the political flunkies at the Commonwealth Office of Technology didn’t find me critical enough to block.
I’ll have to see what I can do about that.
So let’s start with Robbie the Red Faced Liar and Lt. Governor want-a-be.
Robbie Rudolph claims to have raised child support collections according to the Lexington Herald Leader:
“Fletcher, a Republican, and his lieutenant governor candidate, Robbie Rudolph, have said Rudolph boosted child support collections "3,642 percent" since Fletcher took office. Rudolph was secretary of the Finance Cabinet, which includes the Revenue Department, until joining Fletcher's ticket”
The next time any Cabinet Secretary actually raises child support collections will be the first time it ever occurs. The increase in collections was a result of cherry picking cases and the implementation of a new automated system.
What Rudolph and Fletcher should have done was give credit to the folks that actually did the work, starting with the people in the trenches like Division of Child Support or Department for Community Based Services or county attorneys or maybe even the employees of the Revenue Cabinet.
But that would have required managers that realized that any success they have is based entirely on the people that work for them and not on their over inflated self image.
Although, it is good to know, Fletcher is consistent in picking a new running mate. The qualities of arrogance and ignorance seem to equally balanced in Rudolph’s professional actions.
