Ernie Fletcher’s private investments make page one, above the fold of the Herald Leader on Sunday.
Three things came to mind while I read the story.
First, there really isn’t a whole lot that’s news in this story. Most of it had been published before. Ernie helps his friends and ignores the negative publicity, nothing new there.
Second, it must be a slow news day for this story to justify what looks like 60 point type on page one.
And Third I can’t decide if Ernie Fletcher is really this dense about public perception of politicians and insider deals or is he just in the cross hairs of the Herald Leader and they have their guns set on full automatic.
Maybe it’s both. Ernie is this dense and the Herald Leader is out to get him.
