It's the Buzz Stupid
The post below is about Jonathan Miller’s first commercial. The spot will start airing on Tuesday. The ongoing dialogue on the blogs is whether or not this is a good spot. Well the bottom line is it really doesn’t matter if it’s good or not.
We have two days before the spot hits the air, so far there are 20 comments on Bluegrass Report and 65 comments on Pol Watchers about the spot. Now we all know that most of the readership of these sights are the political junkies. As far as raw numbers go, these are prettty small.
But the interesting thing is in the comparison to other posts.
On Pol Watchers the post about the Lunsford spot has 4 comments. On the Courier Journal site a story about Beshear has 2 comments.
You Tube records 491 viewings so far of the spot and the Associated Press has already written a story about the spot.
The Rural Democrat, the rabidly pro Mongiardo blog has so far made a point not to mention the Miller spot.
The spot is creating buzz. It's getting people to talk about Miller, two days before it’s released. Even if you hate the spot you are going to remember it and who it was about. That is the point of doing advertising.
The worst thing you can do is spend a ton of money on crap like Republicans Lunsford, Fletcher and Harper have done.
And yes I called Lunsford a Republican.
If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck and smells like a duck, it’s probably a duck.
