I was pleasantly surprised to see the House Democrats do the right thing and adjourn the special session on the first day. The story is in the Herald-Leader.
The Speaker and the rest of the house democrats, with the self-serving exception of Jim Gooch, have appeared to have grown a little spine. While I know that recently it has been real hard to tell most of the Western Kentucky Democrats from Republicans this vote was a no brainer.
The question now is: Will the leadership of the house Democratic Caucus maintain its’ spine and exercise a little party discipline with Rep. Gooch during the next session?
But it’s still good to know that no matter how well Ernie Fletcher campaigns he has no idea how to be Governor. Calling this session, thanks to Democratic intestinal fortitude, was another political blunder for the indicted boy Governor.
