Bigots and Fried Chicken
On Monday I received an invitation in the mail to a “Rally to Protect Our Children and Families”. The rally will be at the Winburn Middle School at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2007.
The invitation said that if I had any questions to call Frank Simon, infamous homophobe and bigot, at 1-800-749-5876. Almost before I finished reading the invitation I received a robo-call from the very same Frank Simon. The robo-call came from an F. Gotham at 502-426-8722.
(Please read and follow the links on the Daily Kos post, linked above, for a more complete picture of Frank Simon.)
So now I’m intrigued at how I got on the mailing and robo-call list, obviously, they don’t read this blog.
So I first called the originating robo-call number. After multiple rings - on multiple calls – no answer.
I then called the 800 number for Frank Simon. The woman that answered the phone didn’t have a clue how the names were chosen but that Eileen Serke knew but she wasn’t in the office and they didn’t know when she was coming back.
So here is my guess how I got on the list:
1. I’m a frequent voter
2. I live in the 45th Legislative District, the one that has repeatedly sent Stan Lee, Franks pick for Attorney General, to the State House of Representatives.
I am interested in whether the local Lexington media will cover this little get together.
I also am waiting to see how many of my Stan Lee backing neighbors will drive across to town to the predominately Afro-American Winburn Drive area to, as the flyer said, "Bring God Back to America".
By the way the headliners for the rally include Kent Ostrander and they are offering free fried chicken. Well the chicken should be enough to attract the media.
