Cornhole

The 2007 General Election is a couple of months off but silly season has already opened again. The 2008 General Assembly already has 34 pre-filed bills.

The first one this season that screams for the “And We Pay These Guys?” award was filed by Bill Farmer.

AN ACT designating Cornhole as the official state game of Kentucky. Create a new section of KRS Chapter 2 to designate Cornhole as the official state game of Kentucky.

I think Farmer was a bit shoddy in crafting this essential piece of legislation he left out the entire set of rules for the game of Cornhole. If Cornhole is going to be the official state game, I thought basketball was the state game, we need the official rules.

But maybe Bill is a deeper thinker here. With all of the talk of Casinos maybe he is looking at the related trades. Anyone that has walked down the strip in Las Vegas has been exposed to the marketing techniques of this trade.

I’m always amazed at this kind of legislation, maybe Bill was at a tailgate party when he was draughting this legislation
