10 Years Late

Ronnie Ellis has one of the best summations of the Beshear administration so far.

FRANKFORT, Ky
Change is in the air – at least in the presidential nomination races. All the candidates have now adopted Barack Obama’s call for change.

But not in Kentucky.

Mark Twain famously said that when the end of the world neared, he would move here because “everything happens 10 years late in Kentucky.” Looking around Frankfort, one might conclude Twain was an optimist.

It is a grim summation, but very much on target. I'm certain that a good number of the nominees are qualified and well-placed, but it sure looks like the "good ol' boys are back" in Frankfort.

Brer Jones' and Tracy Farmer's American Founder's Bank got slaughtered by federal investigators. Top management fired and many permanently banned from the banking industry for being out of trust and favoring certain businesses and individuals with very sweet and illegal deals, to the point that some of those businesses are in serious jeopardy now that the feds have intervened. When will the state Dept of Financial Institutions act and why didn't they before HMMMMM? Man this crowd already stinks to high heaven and it's only been a few weeks. And Brer heads KEEP right?

In these cash strapped times how much is Miller's gal pal making at the Justice Cabinet? Even liberal bloggers see this as stinky.
