I’ve often heard the phrase that “Power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
But power is also addictive and with that addiction sometime comes delusion.
Case in point, Ernie Fletcher’s need to hold on to the Governor’s Office, demonstrates a delusional addict in need of a fix, in this case a power fix.
While Ernie’s political friends and peers try to do an intervention in an effort to keep him from dragging the Republican Party down. Fletcher insists on running for reelection.
The Fletcher administration has consistently been arrogantly ignorant when in comes to the practical side of politics and public relations. I do not see this changing in his bid for reelection.
As a Kentuckian I’m just plain embarrassed by the incompetent self-serving behavior of this Governor and his minions.
It’s like having a relative that’s a drug addict, you know the person they are hurting most is them self. But the pain they cause spreads to everyone around them.
What a truly sad spectacle.
